I Started a Company Before I Had the Idea — Here's Why
R
Aspiring AI/ML Engineer

A few days ago, I created a LinkedIn company page for something called Golixco.

The funny part?

I don't even have the final product idea yet.

No groundbreaking startup pitch. No 50-page business plan. No team of engineers waiting for instructions.

Just me.

And a name that I've been carrying with me for 7 years.

Golixco Was Never "Just a Name"

I first started using Golixco years ago as the name of my YouTube channel.

Back then, I wasn't thinking about startups or companies.

I just thought:

"Damn... this sounds cool."

Fast forward to today, and that same name has somehow stayed with me through different phases of my life.

It survived school.

It survived changing interests.

It survived my countless "new life plans" that lasted approximately three weeks.

And now, I want to give it something bigger.

I want to make it real.

Why Start a Company Without Having Everything Figured Out?

Let's be honest.

If you look at many successful founders, they didn't have every answer from Day 1.

They had conviction.

They had curiosity.

Most importantly...

They started.

I realized that I've been waiting for the "perfect idea" for years.

But perfection is a terrible starting point.

Execution beats perfection every single time.

So instead of waiting for clarity to magically appear, I decided:

Golixco will become the place where I build that clarity.

The Richest People Build Things

This was another realization I had.

When you observe patterns among some of the most successful people in the world, many of them are:

  • Founders

  • Co-founders

  • Early employees

  • Builders

They didn't just participate in systems.

They created them.

Now, I'm not saying:

"Start a company and become rich."

Life doesn't work that way.

But building something gives you leverage.

It gives you ownership.

It gives you the chance to create value instead of only consuming it.

And honestly?

That's inspiring.

Why "Golixco"?

This is probably my favorite part.

The naming logic is completely irrational and thought of it just now while writting this blog.

And I love it.

  • G → Many successful companies have simple, memorable starting letters.

  • X → Let's be honest, adding an X makes things sound futuristic.

  • CO → It naturally feels like Company.

It sounds like a tech company.

It feels like a startup.

And most importantly...

It feels like mine.

If Golixco ever becomes something significant someday, I already have its origin story.

And that's beautiful.

AI Changed Everything

I genuinely believe we're entering one of the most exciting technological eras ever.

AI isn't just another tool.

It's changing how people learn, build, work, and create businesses.

And I know one thing:

I want Golixco to build something meaningful with AI.

Do I know exactly what that is yet?

No.

And that's okay.

Because curiosity often comes before certainty.

I trust that if I keep learning, building, and experimenting, eventually something worthwhile will emerge.

The Things I Don't Own (Yet)

Here's the slightly painful part.

I don't own:

@golixco on YouTube

golixco@gmail.com

And I still hope to own:

golixco.com

Someday.

Would having them be nice?

Absolutely.

Does not having them stop me?

Not anymore.

Because a brand isn't built through domains and usernames.

It's built through consistency.

Through work.

Through stories.

Through showing up repeatedly.

What I Actually Want From Golixco

Let's be brutally honest here.

I hope Golixco helps me achieve many things I want in life.

Not just financially.

I want:

  • Popularity — To build something people recognize.

  • Personality — To create an identity larger than just my name.

  • Money — Because financial freedom matters.

  • Impact — To build products that genuinely help people.

  • Legacy — To leave behind something meaningful.

Maybe that's ambitious.

Maybe it's naive.

But I'd rather have ambitious dreams than comfortable regrets.

I Started Before I Was Ready

And honestly...

That's the entire point of this article.

You don't need:

  • The perfect idea.

  • The perfect timing.

  • The perfect roadmap.

Sometimes all you need is:

  • A name you believe in.

  • A reason strong enough to keep going.

  • The courage to start before you're ready.

For me, that name is Golixco.

Today, it's a LinkedIn company page.

Tomorrow?

Who knows.

Maybe this article becomes a funny piece of startup lore.

Or maybe it's the first documented step toward building something extraordinary.

Either way:

I'd rather build and fail than wonder "what if?" for the rest of my life.

And who knows?

Maybe six years from now, I'll come back to this article and smile because this was where it all truly started.
